How To Get Clear And Glowing Skin Fast – A Proven And Easy Routine For Smooth And Spotless Skin

Author: Ruth Alabi
Have you ever wondered how celebrities and models have such glowing skin without makeup? Would you like to have such clear, smooth and spotless skin as theirs?
If that’s a yes, this article will show you a simple routine you can use to help you have a smooth and clear skin.
Be hygienic
It is a general knowledge that bacteria flourishes in dirty areas that are not cleaned constantly, like dirty pillowcases, makeup brushes and accessories. When your face comes in contact with such places for prolonged periods, bacteria can enter your pores and cause acne.
Hygiene tips:
- Wash and clean your makeup brushes and accessories regularly to avoid buildup of bacteria in them, which can cause acne breakout and skin irritation. You can wash them weekly, especially if you use makeup regularly. Use some shampoo and warm water to wash them and lay them flat to dry.
- Wash your pillowcases weekly to clear oil and prevent bacteria build up. Be careful not to use harsh detergents to wash them if you have a sensitive skin.
- Clean your gadgets, especially your phone. Most times we use our hands to touch dirty surfaces and then touch our phones without cleaning them. This can cause breakout and increase in acne when you rest your phone on your cheeks. Even when you clean your phone, try using earphones to limit the amount of contact your phone has with your face.
- Wash your face twice a day to get the day’s grime off. For occasions when you are too tired to do that, it is handy to have a face wipe close by. A study was made of a group of people over a 6-week period. They washed their faces different numbers of times a day, once, twice, thrice and so on. Those that washed their faces once a day had a significant increase in acne than those that washed their faces more. Those that washed their faces more than once a day had definite improvement in their faces.
Exfoliate
Exfoliating is a great way to get and maintain a smooth and glowing skin. It removes dead skin cells, lightens black spots and removes toxins from your face and body.
Makeup artists and dermatologists recommend maintaining a weekly exfoliating routine. Doing it too often -every day- may reverse its effect and lead to more breakout because your pores will be exposed making it easy for bacteria to get in.
Tighten your pores
Another way of making your skin glow is by tightening your pores. You can do this by using face masks. When you use the right face mask, it will make your skin glow. One easy way you can tighten your pores is by using this simple milk face mask. Every morning before you take your bath, wash your face. Then make a little paste of powdered milk and water and rub it into your face. Leave it on till it dries before you wash it off. You can do this twice a day for better and faster results. If you do this consistently, you’ll notice improvements within a week. Except if you eat foods that make you breakout like ice cream and other foods with high sugar content.
Moisturize
When your skin is too dry, it may try to compensate for the dryness by producing oil which can result in acne breakouts. It is important to choose a moisturizer suitable for your skin type. A good example is cocoa butter. It is mild and can be used on all skin types. It also rids the body of toxins which come from pollution, smoking, stress, and sun damage. Ideally, you are to moisturize your skin daily.
Get enough rest
The body repairs itself and heals wounds during the hours you sleep. Not sleeping enough can lead to dehydration, irritation, increase in acne and formation of bags under your eyes. Lack of sleep gives the skin a dull appearance. In some cases, it causes the body to release inflammatory compounds which could cause breakout or worsen your acne. Aim to get quality sleep of at least 7 hours each night.
Don’t touch, pick or pop it
Have you ever had that one big pimple that makes a bold appearance and it’s so hard not to pick it? When you have pimples like that, instead of picking or popping it, try applying spot treatments. Why? Touching, poking or popping them causes inflammation around the infected area. It sometimes leads to the spread of pimples when the liquid in them touches unaffected areas. It also increases risks of scarring and leaves spots on your face. You can also use acne-clearing masks to restore your clear skin.
Look out for products with benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acids in the form of acne creams, washes and gels. They can be gotten without prescriptions in drugstores.
Bottom line
The key to having a clear, smooth and glowing skin consistently is by having and following a consistent face care routine. Stay away from junk, high sugar foods and foods you know make you breakout. Step up your personal hygiene. Clean your pillowcases and bed sheets weekly. Tighten your pores and moisturize your skin daily. Make sure you exfoliate weekly and get enough rest everyday. Whenever you have a breakout, try a spot treatment and see a dermatologist if it gets worse.
Bonus tip
Exposure to sunlight can cause your eyes to squint leading to formation of wrinkles at the corners of your eyes. Wearing sunglasses reduces this reaction.
